Dr. Hanson has spent the past eleven years working on this book, researching the many different bible versions, and scouring the libraries, book stores, museums and the internet for information leading to the publication of this book. He has collated most of this information in these pages, and laid them out in layman's terms so the serious bible student can answer their own questions in, "Why do we have so many different bibles, and which ones are best?" This literary work defines some of the doctrinal differences among the variations of the bibles, looking at the New International Version, the New King James Version, the American Standard Version, the New Century Bible, the Living Bible, the New Revised Standard Version, and others, comparing them with the Bishop's Bible, the Geneva Bible, the Great Bible and the Authorized Version of the King James. This is in no way an exhaustive work in itself, but Dr. Hanson recommends other books that have already been written for the serious scholar to seek out for themselves the truth behind the changing of the text. What exactly did God say in the original? Why did man change what God said? If most of the text matches, then what difference is it that a few verses were changed or even omitted? Is there a conspiracy behind the specific changes? Are the modern versions preparing mankind for the New World Religion and the Anti-Christ? The reader will ponder these points and many others as you read this fine piece of literary work that he has worked on, giving so many hours, and much money for accumulating the data needed to support this book.
