About the Author:

Lynn A. Eastman was born in Flint, Michigan, in 1948. The city of Flint was the home of Buick and the famous sit-down strike that formed the UAW. By the time he was a teenager, the hits of Motown were playing across America, and Lynn's proximity to Detroit created a fascination with both fast cars and rock and roll. These roots influenced the title of his first novel, The Day the Music Died.Lynn graduated from the University of Michigan in 1970 with a B.A. in counseling, and then attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he obtained a degree in religious education. Lynn received his graduate degree from the University of Michigan and holds a masters degree in counseling and psychology. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jeanne, for thirty-five years, and they have two children.Eastman and his wife were foster parents during the late 1970s, and their experience caused them to see a need for improved services in this area. Lynn discussed his concerns about the need for improvement in foster care with a local probate judge, who said, "I agree with you completely. Why don't you start a good program?" This conversation inspired him to become the founder of a therapeutic foster care program that has expanded into several states.Eastman currently serves as the executive director of the agency and he spends much of his time traveling to the various offices. The travel time allows him the opportunity to develop plots and create his fiction. Lynn is also an avid world traveler and he interweaves the places and experiences he has had into his novel. When he is not traveling, Lynn loves to spend his weekends attending University of Michigan football games at "The Big House" with his children. His son Zachary designed the cover for Lynn's novel.
