It was 5:30 AM. My alarm clock sounded as it did on any typical Tuesday. I am not quite sure why, but on that dark, still morning, I felt led to request an unscheduled day off from work at the Pentagon. Following my gut, I took the day off. A few hours later, while preparing breakfast, the phone rang. "Turn on the TV." was all my wife could say. It was 9:36 AM, September 11, 2001 and the United States was experiencing a series of events that only can be described as pure chaos. Chaos is no stranger to me. I first began this project with the intent of writing a short paper for close friends and relatives regarding not only facts but substantiated beliefs on life, health, disease, and the role our medical community plays in them all. Intrigue generating questions would often cause our conversation to "U-turn" back into my past. As I explained major turning points based on extraordinary experiences, the impact of my answers appeared to solidify. Through this book you will initially
