James Boschert grew up in Malaya which was then a British colony. He learned first hand about terrorists as this was the time of the Emergency. They burned down his school and then he and his family survived an ambush, saved by a Gurkha patrol that arrived just in time. He joined the British army and served in Borneo, Malaysia, then extensively in the Middle East before spending five years in Iran. He spent time exploring the Assassin castles in the remote northern mountains. Leaving in the turmoil of the revolution he returned to Britain and started a new life. He now lives in the United States.
