From AudioFile:

The Kuklas' careful research brings to life the man best known for his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. They explore this very human Founding Father, who was one of the first, and most eloquent, defenders of freedom. Benjamin Becker narrates with passion and appropriate eloquence. His clear and concise delivery gives flesh and bone to a man of contradictions: This great believer in individual freedom abhorred slavery yet held 90 slaves. Notes, separated from the text by a tone and read by a different voice, and a timeline at the end of the book clarify its historical context. N.E.M. AudioFile 2009, Portland, Maine

From School Library Journal:

Grade 4–8—This title (Rosen, 2002) by Amy and John Kukla presents the details of Patrick Henry's life beginning with his childhood and early education, and spanning over the course of his lifetime, from his early businesses to his career as a politician. The focus, however, is on his role as governor of Virginia and the contributions he made toward the shaping and emergence of a new nation. This volume is arranged chronologically in 15 short chapters. In a few instances, the information presented feels a bit disjointed or difficult to follow because of a shifting back and forth between events or the insertion of a past event with what is currently under discussion. Benjamin Becker delivers an expressive and lively narration. Book notes are preceded by a series of tones and presented in a different voice. A timeline is included at the conclusion of the audiobook. An absorbing, brief introduction to one of our founding fathers.—Mary Oluonye, Shaker Heights Public Library, OH
