This volume of poems is comprised of short poems written in modern style and haiku. The poems were written over a long period of time and represent an eclectic selection of my work. I have been writing for a very long time. In my poetry I am endeavoring to share my vision with the reader. I create tiny fragments of “other places,” and, through these, shine a light on the human condition. I have been inspired by contemporary poetry and eastern forms, both those of the Japanese and Chinese traditions. In addition, I integrate the principles of haiku form with the abstract clarity of mathematics. I try to wed the musicality inherent in our language with imagery that is evocative of the human condition. I hope to initiate the resonance of shared experience. I also hope to capture glimpses of islands of truth embedded in the river of time whose currents envelop all our lives. In the synthesis of sound, image, and meaning, I hope to expose a part of the kernel of existence.
