Immigrants from across the oceans soon found this new land held great wealth in furs. Dutch, French, English and others were laying claim to land that rightfully belonged to the Native Americans who lived there. Token payments may have been made for the land, but did the inhabitants really understand that they were selling their birthright? Then these strangers fought amongst themselves as to who owned the land. In any case, as far as the invaders were concerned, it did not belong to the natives they had found when they occupied these lands. In A Bloodstained Land, we follow the life of a young Native American through the conquest of his land by the French, then the English and finally the rebellion of Chief Pontiac in an effort to reclaim his land.
