George Prom was born in 1923 in Jacksonville, Florida to parents Anna Thorstenson of Norway and Jacob Prom of Denmark. George graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and joined the Army in 1943 where he served in North Africa and Italy. After returning home, he received bachelor degrees from Stetson University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. George has served as pastor of several churches in Florida, specifically San Mateo, Miami and Jacksonville, and founded churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Jacksonville. George was married to Bonnie Porter in 1950 and has two sons, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. George returned to Jacksonville in 1961 and became associate pastor of First Baptist Church. George enjoys spending time at his lake house on Swan Lake at Camp Karis. George lives in Jacksonville today when not traveling. He has been to 22 countries and continues to stamp his passport when not at his desk writing. George also enjoys photography, boating, and his passion for writing has evolved as a lifelong journey of experiences he wants to share.
