The date is December 31st. Tate, a newspaper reporter, has traveled to New York to interview Jacob Balzer. Jacob will turn 100 at midnight on December 31st, 1999. The country is thriving and almost everyone invests. An ominous cloud hangs over this banking world. This year, the first of the baby boomers turns 65.
