Not your average book of related poetry but a vessel that opens up the mind, showcases experiences and captivates its audiences, is what Audrey Bassett´s, "The Flipside of Me" is about! An innovative, energetic work of art that leaves your jaw dropping and your mind filled with visions of sugar love, dancing in your head!
Ms. Bassett has created a work that will surprise many and enchant many more. It is based on a 25 year plus, relationship with her spouse. This art form was inspired by love and what Audrey defines as love between two people. Her prose of relationships among men and women is in fact an outlet of creativity as mid-life stress was about to rear its ugly head. Wherein our Poetess left the reality of present status, sitting on her bed, and emerged into a field of sensual excitement.. Audrey feels blessed to share the music inside of her. And indeed, the songs of love draw you in, entice you and in some cases, challenge your strength as lovers. "Life, she often says, is for the living. And in all things God wants us to love, for we travel this world but once."
Beginning with the poetic, 'Inspiration', one can sense that here is a woman in full bloom about to take off. 'Got it as a Gift' is a whimsical piece, which expresses the birth of a woman and her 'toy.' For the many women that may use such a toy for pleasuring oneself, it is a laughable, engaging story about what can happen. "Still", is a story among storms, life's storms. Perhaps no one could tell this as poetically as it is being spoken here. Then ´Do Tell´ personifies the talker in most of us, when something is good. Except this tale has a twist! On a scale of one to ten, this collection of 24 mesmerizing poetic stories spin a wheel of 360 degrees, reaching climatic endings.
There is much to tell, experience and fulfill in a lifetime. So let´s get started!
