Through the Eyes of the Dove is a book born out of a love for God and a vision. The Bible says that "without a vision, the people perish", and Barbara takes the reader on a journey that begins with a vision that God had given to her, which led to the writing of this book. You will explore scripture that will seek to show you some of the deeper things of God. It is a book for both believers, in various stages of their growth, as well as, for those who may be seeking answers to questions about just what their lives are all about. It will strengthen and lead you into self-examination and reflection, as you seek to discover for the first time, or even re-discover, Gods destiny for your life. Do you know Him, or do you want to know Him? Come take this journey and realize for yourself the wonders of God's Word, and the part you will play in His vast plan. His love for you is infinite and His purposes sure. You are His child, and you will grow to whatever extent you so choose. May the words written here bring you into new understanding of who God is, and just what He expects from each of us individually, as well as, for His body the Church, collectively.

Barbara D. Powers was born and raised in an affluent Long Island town, in the state of New York. Her life to many seemed to be one of privilege and favor, but the reality was very different. Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in February of 1968. She attended Bible College in the mid 1970's. Barbara has served on the Boards of two churches, has been a Sunday school teacher, a Youth Advisor, and an instructor of adults, teaching both the Old and New Testaments. After the death of her husband Mike, in 1994, her deep Christian faith was her sustaining factor, and it was that faith, that became the foundation for which this book was written. Through the Eyes of the Dove is her first literary work. Barbara moved to Midlothian, Va., an area just outside of Richmond, in 1985 where she shares her life today with her husband Doug, four dogs, two birds, 2 tortoises and one semi-resident cat.
