About the Author:

Brother Dennis Robert, a De La Salle Brother, wrote these poems on the life of Our Lord, inspired by his pilgrimages to the Holy Land. With his blood brother, De La Salle Brother Walgan Francis, he planned and led more than 100 pilgrimages, with over 4,000 pilgrims, to the Holy Land. He also led numerous other pilgrimages to Catholic shrines throughout Europe, as well as to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico. In 1989, Brother Dennis was invested as a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre in recognition of his work in making the Holy Land and its people better known and appreciated. Brother Dennis spent most of his life working in London and throughout England as a teacher, vocations promoter, speaker and writer. He also gave many talks to raise funds for the work of De La Salle Brother James Kimpton with some of the poorest people in South India. Brother Dennis's great zeal and energy in whatever he was called upon to undertake sprang from his deep Faith and commitment to God, which were sustained by a life of faithful prayer, at the centre of which was daily Mass. Brother Dennis wished to share these poems as a further means of helping others to come to know and love Our Lord more deeply, which was the ultimate goal of his life. He went home to the Holy Land of Heaven on 19th February 2006, aged 94, in the 76th year of his Religious Profession. May he receive from Our Lord the fullness of His eternal peace, joy and love.
