GENESIS and the Walk Thru The Old Covenant series are a Sunday School curriculum designed for the young Bible Student to help them understand the Old Testament by teaching them book by book about the Old Testament. It was designed for the fifth to sixth grader in mind. It can be taught either in the Sunday school classroom or at home. In this series we do not try to teach any doctrine of any denomination or belief. It is simply a study of the Bible. We begin at the beginning in Genesis and take the student step by step thru the book from the creation of everything to Joseph bringing his family into Egypt. At the beginning of each lesson there is a narrative which is either read by the teacher or the teacher reads and tells the students the story. next there is the fill in the blank sheet for the student to fill out as the teacher is teaching. Next there is the "Go To The Word" sheet which the student looks up Bible verses and fills in the blanks. There is a lot the teacher can emphasize and teach in each section that is not in the study. The series was created to simply hit the highlights of each book. There is also other curriculum on the other books of the Old Testament which can be purchased at a very reasonable price. I separated each series so it would be easy for the teacher and the student to understand. It is separated as follows: Exodus thru Deuteronomy which finishes the Pentateuch; Joshua thru Esther which are the books of history; Job thru Song Of Solomon which are the books of poetry; Isaiah thru Daniel which are the major prophets; and Hosea thru Malachi which are the minor prophets. May God bless you as you Walk Thru The Old Covenant!

Warren Simmons, the author of this book and "Walk Thru The Old Covenant" series is from Fort Worth Texas. He and his wife Sandy attend Christ Church Assembly of God in Fort Worth. Warren and Sandy teach the 5th grade Sunday school class.Upon accepting the responsibility to teach Sunday school, Warren realized the lack of any up to date Sunday school material that taught the Old Testament. Warren began the task of writing a solid Bible based curriculum beginning in Genesis and ending in Malachi. Warren realizes that not all of the material can be presented in a Sunday school environment. He tries to put the book of Genesis and the other books in perspective for the children where they can grasp some idea of how the events took place. Warren realizes that it is essential for the children to know that Jesus loves them. However he knows it is important for the children to know how the Bible gets to Jesus.Warren begins in Genesis 1:1 with the formation of the earth all the way to Joseph leading his relatives into Egypt. The book of Genesis has some amazing stories of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Esau, Jacob, Joseph and others. Warren begins with a narrative which gives an overview of the book; then a fill in the blank covering the chapters. The children are taught how to look up verses in the Bible with the "Go to the Word" sheets. This does not mean the chapters are not to be read by the children or the teachers, this is simply a teaching tool.It is Warren's hope that this may be a tool to bring the children closer to the Lord. If any instructor wishes answers to the curriculum, Warren may be reached at his website; www.otstudy.com. May the Lord bless you in the study of His word.
