J. Monique Gambles was born in Brooklyn New York, the fifth of nine children. Although she was raised in a large family, her family encouraged her to express her individuality and creativity. Eventually moving to Dallas Texas she graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington earning a Bachelors degree in social work, and a teacher certificate in secondary education and her Masters in Educational Administration from Prairie View A & M University.Ms. Gambles debut as an author came with the release of a collection of poems. Saturday's Epiphany: Reflections contained a variety of her edgy and thought provoking poetry, which captivates the reader from beginning to end. The poems reflect a wide spectrum of human emotion that demonstrates the writers humorous sobriety from musings on relationships to curiosity about Black History.
