Sandy Wilson was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee in the 1950s. As a child, she always wanted to sing. She got her taste of performing when her mother put her and her sister in choir where they attended church. But Sandy had one dream; to perform and sing in a rock and roll band. Sandy has a 4-octave, 3 tone vocal range and is classically trained. Her repertoire spans from the 1930s to present day music. Sandy is blessed with the ability to sing all styles of music which includes rock, pop, blues, country, disco, jazz and big band. She has the ability to drive you to the dance floor with her old rock and roll music but can easily melt your heart with any ballad using her velvety and sultry voice. When Sandy learned the song You Don t Know What Love Is written from the 1930s, she immediately realized this was the perfect name for her screenplay she was currently writing. As she began rehearsing the song, the words overwhelmed her, crying every time she sang it. The lyrics reminded her of her volatile relationship with her second husband. It was a very intense song from the start and she feared she couldn t perform it without crying. Before continuing with her screenplay, her husband interceded, talking her into writing this book before completing the screenplay. She sat down at her computer in 2004 and began writing. The title remained with a toast added to mock the misery of her marriage to her second husband. This was a great title to express her tumultuous life with her ex-husband. For over the last seven years, to add to her collection of entertainment acclaim, Sandy performs as a Marilyn Monroe and also a Dolly Parton impersonator. She always felt she could imitate both legends. In 2000, she put together a Marilyn Monroe impersonator show. While singing with a rock band, she made her first debut during the middle of her singing performance in a local club. That launched her to enter a contest at Planet Hollywood. With 9 girls competing, she won hands down Miss Dallas Marilyn Monroe, judged by Mix-102 Radio Station, Barnum & Bailey Circus and a local jewelry store. Dolly came along in 2006 and she is working on her impersonations of Shania Twain. Currently, Sandy is happily married to her husband Jim. They reside in Dallas Texas which is where they met and fell in love. Their relationship has been a happy and joyous life and they have been living and working together for over 22 years.Review:
I loved this book. It was a very good read; very moving and heartfelt. I would read it again and I probably will. It certainly was a page turner and I couldn t put it down. Now that I am finished with it, I find myself wanting to know more about your kids, and what happened with them. I found myself wanting to know how you are now, and how life with Jim turned out. Please tell me more. Hallie J. Miles Dallas Texas --Tesitmonial
I had a chance to read your book and I just wanted to let you know -as if you don't know already -You're blessed to be alive - It was such a thought provoking book that I couldn't put it down once I started. While reading the book my complete attention was on what happened in your life. I am now going through a semi-divorce with my ex-husband and see some things that paralleled our lives. It is through your book that I'm able to see these things in a little clearer state than before. So thank you for sending me a copy. Through your perseverance your life will continue to grow. Hi Sandy, WOW! The book was amazing! - I really enjoyed reading your book. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. I probably read it in about 4 - 6 hours. I was sharing it with my husband and he really was listening to me as I described some of the situations in it. To summarize your book, it was a very good read, I think women could really learn and benefit from this book. It even sounds like it would make a very good movie.
