Over the last three years the husband-and-wife team of Cathy Pfeiler-Bielawski and Blair Bielawski has combined her 25 years of classroom experience with his career as a musician and composer to create elementary music resources using the name Cathy Blair. Cathy Pfeiler's experience covers everything from teaching general music at Lincoln Elementary School in Owatonna, MN to graduate work with Douglas McEwen at Arizona State University to building an award-winning choral group at Arrowhead High School in Hartland, WI. Along with her teaching partner for eighteen years, Nancy Jorgensen, she has published two books dealing with all aspects of teaching music: Things They Never Taught You in Methods Classes (Hal Leonard) and From the Trenches: Real Insights from Real Educators (Heritage Music Press). As a composer, Blair Bielawski has over eighty compositions and arrangements published for school groups at all ability levels. ASCAP (the American Society of Composers and Publishers) recently recognized his writing for middle school students. He has blended his expertise in the recording studio with live musicians and his experience with technology to create music for the CDs that accompany Cathy Blair's publications for Heritage Music Press.
