One of the most comprehensive books on the Hunter yet published. It provides up-to-date details of the serials and histories of each individual Hunter aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and the 20 foreign air forces to present civilian ownership over the 55 years since its introduction. The book is an essential reference for enthusiasts, aviation historians and modelers. Many previously unpublished and some extremely rare photographs are included, with details gathered from many original sources. There are sections with copies of the original specification and contract documents; every plastic, resin or die-cast model produced with corresponding box art; walk around and equipment detail photographs and diagrams; a comprehensive bibliography of books, magazines, journals, websites and CD ROM/DVD's . This is a compilation of hard to find information from many sources worldwide spanning the entire life of the Hunter with 638 pages containing over 400 photographs and diagrams.

From the Author:

This was just one of a series of books that I have compiled on the Hawker Hunter, researched over a period of over 30 years of working with the aircraft in the Royal Air Force and in Oman with Airwork Limited.
It became my 'obsession' to comile as much as I could in the way of the individual histories of the aircraft in all 19 countries that operated the Hunter.
I hope that I have been successful - to a point.  The Hunter still continues to be operated around the world; in Lebanon as part of their air force and with civilian companies such as Apache and ATAC who contract with auir forces across the globe for training of air crews, ships crews and army units.  There are also occassional on-screen appearances in such movies as 'The Fast and The Furious' and '28 Days Later' as well as episodes of 'NCIS'.
In service now for 64 years and counting.  It is still a reliable aircraft.
