Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is currently the fourth leading cause of death in America. What is even more alarming is that it may be the most preventable. Ironically, many people who suffer from COPD have little to almost no understanding of what COPD is. The most disturbing part is that cigarette smoking, the leading cause of this deadly disease, is still an addiction many have to contend with.

Why is this? In this book, the author presents smoking cessation in a different light. Furthermore, he sets out to help those who suffer from COPD to better understand the disease. This three part book uses scripture, education, and motivation to enlighten and encourage the reader. If you smoke, or are the family member or friend of one who does, then this book is for you!

From the Author:
God has the divine prescription to quitting smoking--it wasn't by accident that these pearls of truth were given to us. This was all part of His master plan. We just need to search and have faith that God really wants to help us. Healing comes in many forms. I truly believe God can heal us immediately. We read it over and over in the Bible. I have also seen it personally. I have seen, or know of, people who have been healed from drugs, alcohol and pornography, and yes, even smoking cigarettes. What do all of these people have in common? They let God do the work and give Him all the credit. They couldn't have done it by themselves and they admonish that fact. I also believe God heals over time. I am not sure why God chooses one route over the other, but I know our characters, and the characters of those around us, are shaped by the trials we face and overcome.

James L. Marcum MD FACC Chattanooga Heart Institute and Director of HeartwiseMinistries. -- Book Review, August 1, 2008

"Breathwish is a must read for the smoker who is thinking about quitting cigarettes. Author Craig Ammerall clearly demonstrates not only his knowledge of lung health, but his compassion for patients as he skillfully brings Bible characters to life, revealing their humanness - and God's faithfulness and forgiveness. In a scriptural context Breathwish provides the struggling smoker with a fresh look at temptation and addiction, the difference between the two, and how Jesus set an example for us to follow in our everyday lives. This book is a quick and easy read, concluding with a daily devotional that will help quitters get on track -- and keep them there!" -- Jane M. Martin, author, Breathe Better, Live in Wellness: Winning Your Battle Over Shortness of Breath
