From the Author:

First of all, I want to thank God for empowering and inspiring me to make this book possible. I would like to thank God for blessing me throughout years of darkness; it is very important to acknowledge the almighty lord for blessing me. I owe to him all the accomplishments in my life, without God, nothing would have been possible. The experience of writing this book had stretched me and helped me grow in so many ways. Writing had made me strong mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It was only through God's blessing, grace, and the people He put in my life who make this book possible. I wrote this book to empower others to keep on believing no matter what happen.

Building What Had Been Destroyed focus on building the core values of respect and empowerment for human nature. These values are purpose, love, dream, integrity, hope, passion, self-motivation, attitude, hard work, leadership, fairness, humility, honesty, and destiny. Building what had been destroyed is about restoring those good human values and qualities we have lost during decades of Civil War. Because of longest Civil War in the country, our good qualities and values such as love, faith, hope, unity, happiness, good leadership, wisdom, forgiveness, purpose, vision, opportunities, dreams, equality, and justice have been replaced with wrong values such as fear, hatred, injustice, inequality, frustration, corruption, worry, fear, anger, poverty, discrimination, tribalism, greed, jealousy, obstacles, resentment, and bad memories from the past are becoming the way of life. The purpose of the book is to change our mind-sets from negative values to positive one. Building what had been destroyed is design for you to study each foundational principle and to change, empower, transform, redevelop, encourage, improve, and correct the erroneous behavioral and mental patterns that many Sudanese have learned to accommodate or tolerate during the Civil War.
