What do you get when you mix a grumpy programmer who looks a lot like a turtle, a hacker, who is attempting to penetrate your computer network and a very large dog named Emma with an enthusiastic tail?"

It depends, but if you are Hero O'Reilly, you just stir gently, add an established Cyber X-Man for help, a dozen or so boxes of Peeps for comfort, some advice from your best friend and the auspicious arrival of a sexy Very Special FBI Agent.

The result? A fast, fun trip through the emerging world of computer crime, as Hero tries to trap the hacker who insists on scattering cyber bread crumbs of misleading clues. Not only that, but things start getting really ugly when other criminal methods such as bombs and kidnapping, start being employed by the bad guy.

Definitely not just for techies, Hero's story is a total confection, an interesting, entertaining and fun read. Hero is fun to know and even more fun to have adventures with.

From the Author:

After twenty some years of living the life Hero is trying so hard to attain, including being manager of Network Security for the Federal Reserve IT group, the author decided that she had had enough excitement and retired in order to write.  Even so, she admits that there are times when she is tempted to take Hero aside and let her know that cyber crime is not all fun and games.

Review:

"A hysterical adventure-romance ....There's plenty of goods here, not the least of which is a strong voice and a well-defined central character ........The book almost oozes with energy.....[the final chapters]...  are an above average mystery-rom-com, which is more than enough for many a reader....."
-Kirkus

"Hero O'Reilly and the Phantom Hacker read like a movie in my mind........An excellent piece ....... truly a great story! Bravo!"
-Lisa Conner, Manuscript Review
