The Trial of the Big 'Bad' Wolf is an amusing story with a very different twist. After years of suffering and multiple surgeries, Mr. Wolf learns he is the laughing stock of the town. How to rectify this situation is upper most in his mind. Should he leave town and relocate else where or should he go to trial? After conferring with his family Mr. Wolf hires a lawyer and sues the pig brothers for damages. This story is told in present tense. The courtroom is crowded with various Rhyme-Ville characters and a court reporter has been hired to follow the story to its conclusion. The Trial of the Big 'Bad' Wolf is written to give the reader a different version of what was read so long ago. Since the Three Pigs have had their day, the Wolf feels compelled to tell his side of the story. By bringing charges against the pig brothers, Mr. Wolf feels he can now be exonerated. This delightful story awakens many of the old characters found in the older version of Tales and Rhymes and give them an opportunity to speak. Although this book is designed for children, it should also be a delight to the adults. The Trial of the Big 'Bad' Wolf is entertaining, it is filled with messages which parents may choose to explore. Elvera believe it is never to early to teach a child the difference between acceptable and non-acceptable behavior and it's biblical references will give the adult reader a way to transition from book to Bible.

About the Author:

ABOUT THE AUTHORElvera Smith Cochrell has lived in Maryland most of her life. She has traveled extensively to places like Sicily, Rome, Italy and Greece. Since her marriage, she and her husband have traveled to Spain, Hawaii, taken cruises and driven across the United States. That cross-country trip was a jaw dropping experience and one she wish for everyone to experience. At the age of thirty, Elvera decided to shake off her shyness to explore her stage presence. She also modeled for small community groups. At the age of 67 Elvera continues to perform in various plays at church.A member of New Psalmist Baptist Church, Elvera along with her husband, is actively involved in the Fine Arts ministry. Elvera is entering the third year of a 3 year Discipleship program and is also enrolled in an accelerated 14-month Nyack college program. She expects to graduate in June 2008 with a BS in Organizational Management. Her career has spanned from Nursing to that of a Computer Analyst. Elvera never thought of writing as a career, even though many of her works were published in various community newspapers. It wasn't until she joined a toastmaster's group that she began to seriously think about her writing skills. Over the years, she saved those thoughts, stories and poems. Her first inspirational adult book, A Kaleidoscope of Thoughts, Poems, Short Stories and Other Whimsey, Volume One is a collection of those earlier and some later writings. For a quieter life, she and her husband escapes to the mountains of Western Maryland. There the unobstructed views of the sky, distant mountains and farm land is like a balm in Gilead and it is there where Elvera oft-times experience her "AHA" moments. Look for her children's book Another Look at Old Tales and Rhymes .
