A time that I was going through life altering experiences; on a visit with the well known writer/film-maker Barbara Probst Solomom, she suggested I write about my father and his WW II experiences as a POW in a Russian Concentration camp. I had already started such a biographical idea and I needed something more immediate so I chose this works of poetry with original art as a soul searching venture. "A Walk In Time" became a project I chose to learn Photoshop to gain a better understanding of the digital age that shattered old ways of animation film-making. This idea was inspired during an Aesthetic Realism lesson when this question was posed. "How can you as an artist/film-makeruse today's technology as a means of self expression?" The book is a poetic account depicting some of my childhood years in Italy, mixed in with poetry about love relationships while growing up on Long Island and present time as a single father to a teenage daughter who experienced her mother's tragic death to cancer. The book uses original poetry to tell stories that are illustrated by me with Etchings, original drawings, photographs and celestial paintings that were enhanced with Photoshop. With the my love for pasta I include a personal recipe for making spaghetti with broccoli rabe, using Ronzoni Perciatelli #6 spaghetti. But I also share a love for the "Old American West" and often wonder how things might have been different for the American Indians had Italian chefs conquered the west instead of the U.S. Cavalry. Therefore I include a fable about an Italian chef; "Chef Luiggi," who time travels to feed the Indians, spaghetti and meat balls. Included is also a poem written and illustrated by my daughter Elyse in memory of her mother titled, Angel In My House.

Work was his idea to success and thus planned an early graduation from school for all of his children. With the guidance of his high school art teacher, Jack Merk, Sal received enough scholarships to attend the School of Visual Arts, in New York City. Upon graduation Sal found employment quickly in the animation film industry, from the result of his animated student films winning film festival awards In Atlanta, Georgia 1970 and Zagreb, Yugoslavia 1972. He met his wife in 1974 Elaine Martin-Echevarria Who in 2003 met a tragic death to lung cancer, leaving an eldest son in college and a teenage daughter in high School. In 1982 Sal sought to overcome a fear of people that had plagued him since childhood, and thus began studying the Philosophical education known as Aesthetic Realism, taught at the Aesthetic Realism Foundation, in New York City. That same year Sal opened Mimondo Productions, Ltd. a film animation production studio that flourished for over 25 years in NYC. By 2005 after the death of his wife, and other personal hardships, Sal was forced to close Mimondo Productions.
