At the beginning of the second millennium, I was not taking my medicine as I should have. The voices came back and told me short stories, which I lustrously illustrate in this book. The stories are brief and simple to read. There are also some stories that have a song that parallels the meaning of the narrative.
The stories are often staggered by personal occurrences with my illness and life experiences: some tragic, some humorous, and some inspirational. I hope another schizophrenic will be helped by my forty years of experience as a mentally ill man.

I was born in Tennessee and raised by a loving family. My family had no real history of mental illness. I'm a high-functioning schizophrenic and have dealt with my illness for thirty years.
I became schizophrenic at the age of twenty-one in the Armed Services and had an honorable discharge. Immediately after the Service, I had a major clinical nervous breakdown and began my dark journey into schizophrenia. There were many trips to the hospital and doctor visits for me to regain 95 percent of my normalcy.
If not for modern psychotropic medicine and the kindness of psychiatrists, my recovery may have never been possible. Now I have a loving wife, three wonderful boys, and a happy, full life.
