About the Author:

Today's students know so little about the Dakota War, the forgotten war, and the Civil War in the western theatre. This prompted the author to write a romance that follows a Minnesota regiment to Vicksburg and Nashville. Romance is the second novel in the Black Powder, Gray Hope series that concludes with New Americans in 2012.

Marty Duncan taught English and Journalism before serving 30+ years as a school superintendent. He is a proud Grampa and school board member, member of Lions International, and a Vietnam Era Veteran.

Two chapters of his novels may be read at and are downloadable at Amazon and Red Lead Press or Eloquent Books.
