How did you get to be the person you are? How does your mental and emotional map of the world differ from the maps constructed by your friends, by colleagues, by strangers, by loved ones? In this thoughtful, fact-laden book, Dr. Alex Lees explores the mind/body connection. He shows how the non-physical mind can have tremendous effects in the physical world - on your health, for instance and offers a number of simple, fun ways to reduce stress and anxiety and purposefully build new, positive pathways, or eliminate old, less than useful ones. You'll discover some of the secret techniques successful psychotherapists use every day to help their clients. You are what you think, according to Dr. Lees. So if you wish to make changes in your life, then the first step is to begin to pay attention to your thoughts. The second step is to use the fun, practical and effective tools in this book to change your thoughts and start getting more of what you want out of life.

Dr. Alexander R. Lees has been in private practice for over 20 years, as a counsellor, therapist and personal coach. He is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, with a Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy. His belief is: People are not broken, and in need of fixing. Most people are just fine. They may simply need a tune-up. Besides seeing clients in his private practice, Dr. Lees presents international seminars and workshops on a wide variety of topics, related to the mind/body connection and focusing on the how-to techniques people can use to create healthier, happier lives for themselves. Dr. Lees has overcome serious adversity in his own life – after a car accident (as a 20-year old) he harnessed the energy of his mind and walked, when his doctors said he would never walk again. After that, he took up the study of psychotherapy so he could apply what he had learned about the connection between the mind and body to help people find their own inner power. Whether presenting a seminar, giving a keynote address, conducting a workshop, or in his private practice, Dr. Lees projects an abundance of energy and enthusiasm. With passion and with humour, he creates an atmosphere where an individual can fully realize his or her own inner power and finally meet the real healing guru: yourself! Dr. Lees is also the author of EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques – What is it and how does it work? and co-author of Freedom At Your Fingertips. He lives in beautiful White Rock, BC, Canada, with his wife Berit and their dogs, Ty and Kaylie.
