About the Author:
Professor Alan Widgerow, a widely respected academic and plastic surgeon lived in South Africa before relocating to Irvine California. During his illustrious academic career he was the first South African Plastic surgeon to become a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was also awarded an Honorary Professorship by The University of the Witwatersrand for the international recognition he has attained in his field. He is the past President of the Association of Plastic Surgeons Southern Africa, a national examiner in Plastic Surgery for major Universities, author of over 90 publications and 2 books. He has won numerous awards for his writing including four Plastic Surgery Association ‘Publication of the Year’ awards for various scientific publications. He is actively involved in all aspects of cosmetic surgery, wound healing and is at the forefront of medical device innovations. He is a regular guest on television and radio shows and is in constant demand for speaking engagements.
