First time author Mark Thomas Morrell invites you to an experience of haunting fictional and non-fictional tales in Desperate Threads. This collection of short stories invites readers on a stake out with two cops as they become assassins by default in Execution of a Suicide. Take a walk through the Auction of the Man in Black where the memorabilia of two legends on display sends a message about love while the response of a vengeful son to his father’s infidelity is in the interest of Best for Everyone, and the author shares his own personal experience of what he experienced inside and outside Manhattan on 9/11. This collection of stories weaves together characters digging beneath the surface of their own tribulations and dark burdens to uncover the truths about the world in which we live. From a university in the downtown streets of New York City to the display rooms of Sotheby’s; Desperate Threads draws on the forces of loneliness, loss, and self-exodus. The experience of rising to the occasion is brought on by the ghosts that haunt us and such spirits are at work in the pages of this book.
