Dr Colin McCarty is a highly experienced assessment consultant and test developer. His many published tests include the widely used Access Reading Test and Diagnostic Reading Analysis, the acclaimed Progress in Reading Assessment series (PiRA), and the Phonics & Early Reading Assessment (PERA). He has also revised and restandardised the popular Non-Reading Intelligence Tests and the New Salford Sentence Reading Test. Marie Lallaway is Head of English at Scaltback Middle School, and also a literacy/assessment consultant to government assessment agencies. She was involved in the development of the Diagnostic Reading Analysis and is co-author of the New Salford Sentence Reading Test.
