Life is good for Adam Bell, an architect and amateur archer who has escaped the rat race of the city for life in a small Yorkshire village. Then he shoots Spindler, a homeless man living in the woods near the village and everything goes badly wrong. And then there's Doggo, whose arrival sets in train a litany of violence that ends in bloody mayhem in Adam's own back yard.
