About the Author:
Jose Maria de Espona. Cadiz, 1963. After he studied industrial engineering, he created in the 80´s and 90´s some pioneering computer graphics companies in Europe, as Triplefactor, RDE, REM infografica or DEI. These companies developed innovative and revolutionary computer graphics applications, as the first commercial metaball modeller, the first cloth simulator or the first extense library of textured, high quality 3d models, that have been used in thousands of productions for broadcasting, movies and videogames, and hundreds of top production houses around the world are their clients, as Dreamworks, Digital Domain, Lucas Arts, Electronic Arts and many more. During more than 20 years of professional career in computer graphics, he has done, directed and produced hundreds of commercials, tv corporate designs and special effects for movies and documentary series, as the acclaimed "Memoria de España" for the spanish public television, RTVE. Also he has wrote a great amount of technical articles in CG professional magazines, papers and books about computer graphics and about the social impact of technology, and also has developed patents and systems related to RFID and GPS spatial identification, augmented reality and 3D-based artificial intelligence.
