With humor and sensitivity, this story relates Nate's conflict between his love and pride for his dad (who is a nurse), and his fear of being teased by his peers (who believe that only girls are nurses).

Donna Hoffert recently retired from Seattle Pacific University, after teaching nursing in the Seattle area for twenty-nine years. She received her Masters Degree in Nursing from Syracuse University in 1998. She lives with her husband Ray, three cats (four if you count Sweeny the Meany, the demanding stray holding her family hostage), and one puppy, a chubby Chin. Donna has three children and six grandchildren. She has tirelessly tried, without success, to convince each one to consider a career in nursing. Obviously she has not given up!
