This book was first written in the 1950s by Murel Bennett and brought up to date in 2009 by a younger sister, Sylvia. In the 1950s Murel wrote many stories for her younger sisters. Sylvia re-discovered this manuscript ten years ago on a visit to sister Murel. Sylvia loved the book so much she asked Murel for permission to re-write. Sylvia emphasizes the vintage aspects of the story and the cozy mystery/romance style that was so popular in the 1950s. The era is 1940s at the end of WWII. The scene is murder at a house party in a mansion on Lake Erie. The protagonist, Anne, is an innocent young girl who has been asked by her surrogate grandmother to visit the family estate and help with this house party. The house party consists of grandson Allen, a WWII veteran, and granddaughter Lila, a Hollywood star, home for a rest and bringing a party of Hollywood associates. Anne. excited to be returning home, little anticipates the horror to come--or a romance that will change her life.
