"Waiting on God," written by Andrew Murray, is a 31-day series of prayers and meditations on the theme of waiting on the Lord. Each day Murray offers a text from Psalms or elsewhere in the Bible along with an inspirational reflection on its meaning for the Christian. This devotional is for all who seek to learn more of the art of waiting on God. Few Christians today grasp the concept of waiting as Murray did. "Waiting on God" clearly delineates why we wait, what we wait for, what it means to wait, and the blessing of waiting. Though not labeled a book on prayer, this book definitely is. While "Waiting on God" doesn't teach you how to pray directly, it does lead gently to an intimate relationship with God as Creator, Father, Savior, and Lord. This book remains fresh, even when read many times. As Murray teaches, "Waiting on God" means attending to Him and being restored to the Garden of Eden in the sense of humbly seeking God in every aspect of life. The very habit of going to God to hear Him and let Him lead brings restoration, peace, and transformation to the humble believer. Those who cultivate the habit of continually waiting on God ( seeking Him, resting at His feet, trusting Him, refusing to be moved until he so directs, refusing to be sufficient in themselves without Him) will have a great peace and joy in His Presence. "Waiting on God" leads you to this good place of intimate communion with God. This wonderful classic has been of great benefit to many Christians.

How often the 'busyness' of life can creep up and overwhelm us. Rather than depending upon our own strength, as Christians it is our privileged birthright to enter into a daily time of reverent meditation and silence, waiting only upon God for: His answers to our problems, His direction in our lives, and, most importantly, His awesome presence refreshing our spirits and teaching us more about Himself.
Andrew Murray shares thirty–one heartfelt meditations, one for each day of the month, to help renew our vision and quicken our desire to turn to the Lord for His quite, peaceful strength. Murray's own prayer was that the Lord would use these meditations "...to draw all to Himself, to learn in practice and experience the blessed art of waiting only upon God."
South African pastor and author Andrew Murray (1828-1917) was an amazingly prolific writer. Murray began writing on the Christian life for his congregation as an extension of his local pastoral work, but he became internationally known for his books, such as Abide in Christ, that searched men's hearts and brought them into a deep relationship with Christ. Writing with an intensity of purpose and zeal for the message of the Gospel, Murray wrote numerous books even after his retirement at age seventy-eight.
