Peacock Hill

9781450719049: Peacock Hill

Peacock Hill is a light and fun read about a young family. The year is 1965 and the family has just moved into their new home. The location is in the hills just north of Tustin, in Orange County, California. The new tract of homes is called Peacock Hill. In the center of the story is a ten year old boy named Gus. He is one of five children in his family. The story tells of his adventures with his friends and the story of his family dynamics as they try to make ends meet. While the book was originally written with younger readers in mind, it blossomed into a story that touches the heart of all ages. I loved writing this story as it made me laugh, smile, and sometimes even weep. It is a story that is near and dear to my heart, and has a very special meaning for me. I invite you to take a ride with me; back in a time where life was so different. I will let you feel and smell the sensation of being young and innocent again.

About the Author:

Nils Haeggstrom is a new author on the best seller scene. His unique style and flair give his books the magic of "being there". He lives in southern California and recently wrote a very fun story about a ten year old boy growing up in the O.C. back in 1965. The title of this book is Peacock Hill. While Peacock Hill was being printed, he started writing Dynocracy. This is a very powerful book that is hard hitting and a critical fictional story about who is running the U.S.A. Review:

What an easy book to read for all ages! Peacock Hill captures the sights, sounds and smells of Orange County, CA in the mid sixties. The book is delightful and full of forgotten adventures that we all lived through in that era. It makes you realize how great those times were. Well done Nils! --Don Quayle Costa Mesa, CA

Sit back and relax as you relive your childhood vicariously thru 'Gus' and his siblings endless adventures of growing up in the 1960's in Orange County. It truly doesn't matter where you grew up, this accounting will have you anticipating the next twist or turn in what it feels like to be a child again, with the reckless abandon that only kids can live by. I highly recommend reading Peacock Hill because not only is it entertaining, but the author does a remarkable job of conveying the universal importance of what 'family' truly means. --Marian Watson Irvine, CA

Nils...you had me on the edge of my seat during the last 3 chapters! I can't tell you enough how amazing your book is. You know I am a visual person and I found myself living it all through your words. You should be so proud of yourself. Reading the last few paragraphs I felt myself warm up and shedding a few tears. I was part of the family. Great job! Many will feel the same warmth and love! Share this beauty! --Kim Vela Orange, CA
