A memoir of trail maintenance, fire fighting and flying on the Chelan Ranger District, Wenatchee National Forest. Rich Faletto worked clearing trails and fighting fire around Washington State's incredible Lake Chelan in the 1960s. His last summer was spent flying fire patrol both as a spotter and a pilot. Rich Faletto graduated from Washington State University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and English. He spent 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Logistics Program Manager for the F-16 Air Combat Fighter and B1-B Bomber programs. He and his wife Betty have lived in Sandpoint, Idaho off and on since he left the Air Force in 1985. He worked for Evergreen International Airlines as Senior Manager of Airline Stores and Federal Express as a stores technician. Rich also worked as a realtor, real estate office owner, mortgage lender, and as a business development representative for two title and escrow companies. He is now retired and spends his spare time out of doors, skiing, fly fishing and hunting elk
