Commander Shenq is the Pharaoh's right-hand man, his shadow, his protector. But when a shadow-hunter kills his father on the battlefield, Shenq must confront the opposing forces that threaten to destroy Egypt. Pharaoh Kheper-Re, a victim of nightmares and mistrust, hides himself in the palace to avoid the howling of the night jackal. Knowing there is treachery and imminent assassination, he summons Commander Shenq to guard the palace. Shenq brings with him a unique bodyguard from Kush and a Hebrew prophet whose dream interpretations are legendary. With revenge in his heart, Shenq is determined to outwit the occult powers of the assassin and protect the Pharaoh, and the people of Egypt.
Based on meticulous research, Chasing Pharaohs is a fascinating portrait of 18th Dynasty Egypt during the time of Thutmose II seen through the eyes of three warriors.
