9781456359799: Adapt Smart: Smart Strategies for Learning in the 21st Century

This handbook shows how to use a simple framework designed to help reduce overload, and effectively integrate learning strategies with modern learning tools and resources. It covers the adapt smart framework, specific evidence based strategies and concepts that help support effective learning. The adapt smart framework is given a whole chapter to itself, including clear illustrations, and a description of how it can be applied to improve learning. There is in-depth material on how to adapt learning strategies on-the-fly in a chapter on "global adapt". Then there are specific chapters on each aspect of the framework that include specific learning strategies for improving mindset, reducing overload, leveraging the long term memory, improving mental flexibility and creativity, and constructive thinking. There is also a chapter on how the framework applies in the context of a project. This refers to projects in business and training contexts, in study contexts, and in leisure situations. The handbook includes diagrams that illustrate the framework, the nature of learning and memory, and learning structures that help to reduce overload and support learning.
