About the Author:
Gerry McCullough is an award-winning short story writer, born and brought up in north Belfast. She is married to media producer, Raymond McCullough, has four children and lives in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. Belfast Girls is her first full-length novel. Her 2nd thriller-romance novel, Danger, Danger, was published in October 2011; followed by a collection of humorous Irish short stories, The Seanachie: Tales of Old Seamus, in Jasnuary 2012; and Angel in Flight: an Angel Murphy thriller, in June 2012.
Gerry has had around 60 short stories published and, in 2005 won the Cuírt International Award for New Writing, from Galway Arts Centre, Ireland. In 2008, she was shortlisted for the Brian Moore Award, Belfast; in 2009, commended in the Sean O'Faolain Short Story Competition, Cork; and again shortlisted for the Cuírt Award, Galway, in 2010.
Her young adult novel, Lady Molly and The Snapper, was successful in the first round of the 2010 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Competition, and will appear later in 2012. Gerry also has an adult comic fantasy novel and several collections of Irish short stories in the pipeline. Belfast Girls was voted Book of the Year, 2010 on Night Publishing and has sold more than 15,000 copies. Gerry now writes and blogs full-time.
