The story behind The Ghosts Of Melrose, is one that has been brewing inside of me for many years. Based on a handful of real events, and spoonful of true love, and a whole lot of creativity added into the recipe, Ghosts was a story that demanded to be written. I once heard an author say that she hated to write but the stories inside of her grew from an itch that she could not scratch into an all consuming growth upon her brain that would not release her until she got it out and told the story. I can honestly say that I don't hate writing though. I love it. But a novel is a major endeavor and one that I would never have pursued were it not for the nagging of the story inside of me needing to be shared.
Even as I promote the sale of Ghosts now, which by the way has no actual ghosts in it, I am busy writing the next book. It is unrelated to this one and yet I am compelled to write another story that is set in the part of the country that I know the best, Southern Iowa. I hope that you enjoy reading these stories as much as I genuinely enjoy sharing them. Thank you.
For a hundred and fifty years, the Southern Iowa town of Melrose, Iowa has been the haven for the Irish Catholic families who settled there. But for the Keanes, it would be their hell. Born into a family outcast by their own, Aidan Keane lived a tortured existence. Coming of age in depression era Melrose, Aidan finds the one thing that gives him hope in this world only to lose her. In the end, Aidan discovers that time does not heal all wounds, but love, true love, is the only thing that can.
