Kyle Walsh has a well ordered, happy life. He served his country in the military for eight years and then got hired on the police department of his home town of Middletown, Alabama. To make things even better, he believes that he has met the girl of his dreams. Just when things are starting to go well with Abiliene, and he is finally breaking through her shell, life deals him a cruel blow. Or three. First, he is laid off from his job because of the economic crisis. That same day, the convenience store where Abiliene works is robbed. The next day, Abiliene - and her roommate, Anne, disappear. Assisted by his former Sergeant and a new friend at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Kyle embarks on a cross-country trip to find Abiliene, only to discover that there are much darker motives involved than he ever surmised. Will Kyle succeed before his savings…and her time run out?

I enjoy music, a variety of crafts and writing. I began writing creatively at the age of 8. I do not plan the outcome of my stories, but rather enjoy the creative spontaneity of seeing where they go on their own (with a little help from my muse). I have participated in the National Novel Writing Month (http://www.nanowrimo.org) since 2007, completing a 50,000 word manuscript each year. This novel is the result of my 2010 participation. Diana Bloch lives in South West Ohio with her husband, two kids and enough pets to form a small zoo. She works full time as a computer programmer, but has done a wide variety of jobs in the past, including Firefighter, EMT, Ambulance Dispatcher, and Audio-Visual technician. She served in the Army Reserves/Army National Guard. She has a BA in music.
