The fact that the public reading of the Scriptures was still practiced in the times of the Apostles is brought out in the decision of the Jerusalem council (Acts 15:21) and Paul’s words to Timothy in 1Timothy 4:13. The assumption that the public reading of Moses (Law – Torah) and the other Scriptures would continue in the Messianic community of believers in Yeshua is quite evident to the Apostles.
