There have been corruptions of the Bible manuscripts --some inadvertently; some intentionally. Does it matter that some of the Old Testament stories we have read didn't happen the way the Bible portrays them? How can we reconcile the numerous discrepancies: duplications, inaccuracies, self-contradictions, and anachronisms ( the representation of things out of their proper time in history). Why does the Bible seem to support the idea that women are property with hardly any rights? Is the Bible the source of this concept that filtered down for generations through many countries -including America before the various movements supporting women's rights created change? What do homosexualty, adultery, the Sabbath, and murderers have in common? Under the Old Testament sacrificial system, there was no sacrifice available for these sins. The penalty was death. The Christian religion is somewhat contradictory in that they say the law was abolished at Jesus' death and no longer relevant; however, they borrow certain laws from the Old Testament. When confronted with the issue of the Biblical Sabbath, they have no problem with Sunday worship; yet Sunday was never the Biblical Sabbath. If asked about homosexuality, they are quick to denounce the lifestyle as seemingly more sinful than violating the sabbath. Yet according to both the Old and New Testaments, the definition of sin is "the transgression of the law" and according to the book of James in the New Testament if one offends in one point of the law, "he is guilty of all. These seem to be examples of how these laws can cause one to be intolerant, judgmental, and hypocritical at the same time.

About the Author:

The authors are a brother/sister team and have both spent many years in Christian ministry and Messianic Judaism. They were involved in a group fellowship whose focus was on study and practice of the Torah. The intent of this group was to probe deeper into Bible history, Christian doctrines and whether or not the Bible was indeed inerrant or divinely inspired. They embarked on a project to document their findings which culminated in this book which they consider to be a strictly `bird's eye' view as there is so much more information readily available for those interested in further study
