Question: How do I know my Family of Origin deserves cutting off?
Answer: When they become enraged at reasonable requests.
If someone believes -- really believes -- that, no matter how badly they treat you, for however long, you will stick around and come back for more, that gives them license to treat you very, very badly, indeed.
Eventually, you wise up and realize that -- if you have to work that hard at a relationship -- they are sabotaging all your efforts.
I realize this book (paperback) is expensive. Amazon tells me that the color print and pictures make it "significantly" more expensive to publish.
I wished I'd had this book years ago when I was struggling with my Family of Origin. My only regret is that I didn't cut them off sooner.
My other book is, "A Primer on Evil." It's a companion to this work (a concise, 70 pages).
