Few mysteries of the Bible have been as intriguing as the mystery of Melchizedek. Melchizedek appears in the Old Testament only in two places: Genesis 14:18-20 and Psalm 110:4. In the New Testament only the book of Hebrews takes up the subject (Hebrews 5:6;6:20; 7:1,9-11,15,17,21). Who is he? Some have speculated that Melchizedek is simply the preincarnate Jesus,or the archangel Michael,or or even another divine being a type of Christ from another sphere of universe, or Shem the son of Noah. These are all possibilities including one missed by others – Noah. Prof. M.M.Ninan discusses these possibilities.
