If you have ever wondered what it is like to be a pastor’s wife but were afraid to ask, this book provides insight to one family’s private life. Unfortunately, my story is widespread but kept secret. The life of a public figure can be consistent in both the private and public arenas, but what about one that is inconsistent? Who suffers? What are the consequences? When should the hypocrisy be exposed? Where is the help? How can the troubled soul be comforted? This book answers these questions and also asks the reader to answer questions. Internal conflict that is invisible to the world is easily dismissed as too subjective, unlike the visible evidence of physical abuse suffered by too many. However, emotional abuse is equally as damaging (some say more so) as physical abuse. This is not a how-to book. Rather, it is a story that encourages us to keep moving forward until we break through. We do not have to muddle through by ourselves. We do not have to die alone.

About the Author:

Jackie Winkler retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation in 2008 after working 12-years with several Lockheed Martin companies, mostly in Orlando, Florida. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in Human Resources and Supply Chain Management before transferring to Cleveland to work on a government contract with Lockheed. At that time she worked for three years as a Technical Writer in the Congressional Department. Prior to going to work for Lockheed, Ms. Winkler spent one year (1995) in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), teaching Russian public school teachers how to implement a western style curriculum into their classrooms. Before making the trip to the CIS, Jackie served the community of Jackson, Tennessee, as a pastor’s wife. Her highest calling was being a stay-at-home mom for 27 years to her three children. Ms. Winkler studied at Columbia International University, Columbia, South Carolina, and graduated in 1984 with an Associate of Arts degree. In addition to earning her degree, she completed the core curriculum for a four-year degree along with performing at-will services for the University. Her three children have given her ten grandchildren, all of whom reside from Alaska to Iowa to Florida. Jackie lives near family and friends in Ohio and is fulfilling one of her dreams: to write. Another dream is . . . as God wills.
