About the Author:
Review:
Mehdi Khosrow-Pour (DBA) received his Doctorate in Business Administration from the Nova Southeastern University (FL, USA). Dr. Khosrow-Pour taught undergraduate and graduate information system courses at the Pennsylvania State University - Harrisburg for 20 years where he was the chair of the Information Systems Department for 14 years. He is currently president and publisher of IGI Global, an international academic publishing house with headquarters in Hershey, PA. He also serves as executive director of the Information Resources Management Association (IRMA) and executive director of the World Forgotten Children's Foundation (WFCF).
He is the author/editor of over twenty books in information technology management. He is also the editor-in-chief of the Information Resources Management Journal, the Journal of Cases on Information Technology, the Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organizations and the Journal of Information Technology Research and has authored more than 50 articles published in various conference proceedings and journals.
Khosrow-Pour, an author and editor who taught information system courses at Penn State U., compiles 24 case studies describing methods used to assess an education course, how to implement assessments, what factors to assess, and which factors determine the success of the result, as well as how to measure and convey results. Topics discussed include the alignment of course objectives and assessments, the use of program and institutional data, data for issues of retention and graduation rates, and collaboration in student assessment research. Also examined are pre-service teachers' diversity awareness, the relationship between freshman composition courses and student performance in intensive writing courses, and online learning environments.
