In his first adventure, the adorable and cuddly Mr. Moopoo springs to life as the favorite model of teddy bear portraitist, The BearPainter. He becomes a valuable part of the family in more ways than one, and learns important lessons about honesty, jealousy, and love along the way. Beth Herman’s whimsical drawings add charm and humor to her delightful story; a book young children and teddy bear fans of any age will love, and adults will love reading aloud. Mr Moopoo is the bear of the hour, and You, Me and Mr Moopoo Makes Three is delighting young children as well as the young at heart.

Before I began painting in 1999, I had been a social worker in New York City; sold shirts and ties to Wall Street brokers (one of whom I married!) temporary and permanent staffing to law firms and computer training to the U .S. Government. I worked as director of an adult education school; a freelance business columnist, fashion journalist, publicist and model. Choice of medium was never an issue for me. I am at heart an oil painter. The question of subject matter proved more challenging. After painting a series of self -portraits and high fashion shoes, I decided to look outside of myself and my closet, and become a bear portrait painter. The teddy bear paintings are well travelled; having hung in galleries and shows around the country. In an attempt to give my bears a wider audience, I decided to produce a childrens’ book. Mr. Moopoo had become a larger and larger personality in our house, so he thoughtfully suggested the book be about him. I enjoy working with teddy bears because of the texture of their fur, the round shapeliness of their bodies, and their rich facial expressions. They also talk less and take fewer coffee breaks than other artists’ models.
