Author and illustrator Tony Roegiers has been a ski teacher for more than thirty years. He became a fully-certified (Level III) instructor with the Professional Ski Instructors of America in 1984. At that time he was already a Level I coach with the United States Ski Coaches Association. He has taught skiing and coached racing to thousands of children and adults at Tahoe-Donner, Squaw Valley, and Northstar-at-Tahoe where he was a ski school supervisor. He has worked with Special Olympics athletes and disabled skiers. He has been a high school and university English teacher and currently coaches reading.
