Synopsis
Still Ticking! is the true life story of a boy who was born with a potentially fatal heart condition. That boy's name is Dan. Before he ever had a say about it, Dan was forced into a world of doctors, medicines and surgeries. Given his innumerable medical challenges, he was forever doomed to be labeled different. But he didn't allow it. Through his work, he constantly reminds himself, and the reader, that abnormality is his normality; that it takes a lot of work and courage to come out of his hell smiling. Still Ticking! tells the moving story of Dan's challenges growing up and his unyielding quest to be normal. He takes us through the ups and downs, and the many struggles and adversities he overcame to feel happy. You ride on his emotional roller coaster and see how he transforms the experience of open heart surgery into a positive one, reliving his childhood in such detail that you feel like you were right there with him along the ride.
