After being diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in 2010, I underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and reconstruction.  It was scary and overwhelming and I at first , I spent way too much time thinking about all the bad things that might happen to me.  I'd often wished that I could draw, and had even started taking classes when cancer showed up and derailed my life.  Cartooning was the perfect way for me to get a bit of perspective. It allowed me to share my feelings and experiences in a positive way.  Plus, cancer patients are some of the funniest people I know!  I am sure that lots of other cancer patients have great ideas for cartoons.  Let's share them with each other and fight back with humor!
